Product Feature
Basic Benefit
- Double Indemnity of Personal Accident1, up to HK$4,000,000 (only applicable to Single Travel Plan).
- Maximum limit for medical expenses up to HK$1,500,000, including the treatment expenses incurred in Hong Kong within 3 months after the insured person’s return from abroad and Trauma Counselling Protection are also provided.
- Protection for Dangerous Activities1, including bungee jumping, parachuting, rafting, diving, trekking & hot-air ballooning(not applicable to professional sportsmen or people engaged in competition).
- If “Black Alert”2 is issued which results in travel delay, cancellation and curtailment etc., the irrecoverable deposits or charges will be payable. (For details, please refer to the list of Outbound Travel Alert)
- If Compulsory Quarantined due to Infectious Disease or issuance of any Outbound Travel Alert2 to the destination, the period of insurance will be automatically extended.3
- Rental Vehicle Excess Protection, cover limit up to HK$5,000 (per event).
- 24-hour Worldwide Emergency Assistance 4, offers you medical emergency assistance service, overseas hospital admission deposit guarantee and medical evacuation to suitable hospital or country of residence.
- Annual Plan is suitable for frequent travellers or business trip, once you apply this Plan, policy will be automatically renewed5, notice will be given if the underwriting terms and conditions are changed.

I. Enhanced Benefit
- Extended benefit for personal accident and medical & related expenses due to act of terrorism6.
- Severe Incident Extended Benefit – Extended coverage includes cancellation and curtailment of journey due to unanticipated outbreak of strike, industrial action, adverse weather conditions, natural disasters and infectious disease and death, serious bodily injury or serious illness of the person with whom the insured person is travelling.
- Extra Cash Allowance, including Cash Allowance for Infectious Disease and Black Outbound Travel Alert2.
- Outbound Travel Alert2 Extended Benefit - “Red Alert” or “Amber Alert”2 is issued which results in cancellation and curtailment of journey, the irrecoverable deposits or charges will be payable. (For details, please refer to the list of Outbound Travel Alert).

Notes:
- It is not applicable to the insured person aged under 18 or over 70.
- The Security Bureau of the Government of HKSAR launches the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) System which uses amber, red and black signals to differentiate the levels of risk. This system aims to help HKSAR residents better understand the risk or threat to personal safety in travelling to those countries that are popular travel destinations for HKSAR residents.
- If the insured person is infected or suspected to have infectious disease resulting in being compulsorily quarantined during the period of the insured journey, the period of insurance of the Plan will be automatically extended for 10 days after the expiry of compulsory quarantine period, or the insurance will terminates upon the insured person’s return to Hong Kong (whenever first occurs) .
- 24-hour Worldwide Emergency Assistance Hotline mainly provides emergency assistance service, for enquiries related insured coverage or claims, insured person may contact BOCGI directly.
- BOCG Insurance reserves the right to amend the terms and/or adjust the premium and maximum limit under the Plan.
- Extended to cover the losses arising from the acts of terrorism (except for using nuclear weapon or device or chemical or biological agent).

10. In the event the “Curtailment” and “Travel Delay” happened simultaneously, only a one-off cash allowance will be payable for each insured person. Such one-off cash allowance shall be counted within the maximum limit of indemnity under the corresponding benefits.
Major Exclusions (For more details, please refer to the policy.)
Pre-existing sickness or physical defects, act of war, civil commotion, terrorism(except as otherwise specified), nuclear fission, nuclear fusion or radioactive contamination, professional sports team, suicide, pregnancy, influence of alcohol, drug addiction, AIDS, travelling for the purpose of study (except Student Overseas Travel Cover), migration, business trip involving any dangerous assignments, projects or occupation of a manual nature, mobile phone(except Enhanced Benefit) .
Limitation
- Proposed Insured must be aged 18 or above.
- Insured Person(s) must be aged between 6 weeks and 80 years.
- Journey must be departed from Hong Kong.
Notes for application
- Individual application for insurance is required for persons aged 18 or above.
- For persons aged between 6 weeks and 17 years who are not travelling with parents, they can apply for Single Travel Plan or Annual Travel Plan individually provided that full adult’s premium is paid and the entire journey is accompanied by and with the custody care of an adult. The maximum benefit payable for “Medical and Relevant Expense” will be the same as adults aged 18 to 70.
- The proposal form must be duly signed by a parent or guardian if the person is under 18 years old.
- BOCG Insurance reserves the right to amend the terms and/or adjust the premium and maximum limit under the Plan.
Maximum cover period
- Single Travel Plan - subject to a maximum of 180 days.
- Annual Travel Plan - maximum 90 days for each trip.
Claim Form must be submitted to Bank of China Group Insurance Company Limited (“BOCG Insurance”) not later than 30 days after the expiry of the journey.

Notes for making a claim (For more details, please refer to the provisions of the relevant policy)
- In order to proceed with your claim, BOCG Insurance may request for additional documents if needed.
- Any occurrence of an accidental loss, which may give rise to a third party claim, the Policyholder should immediately complete a Travel Insurance claim form and advise BOCG Insurance. The Policyholder or Insured Person shall not be entitled to admit liability on behalf of BOCG Insurance or to give any representations or other undertakings binding upon them except with BOCG Insurance’s written consent.
- If medical attention is received due to bodily injury or sickness, the Policyholder or Insured Person should pay the expenses and obtain an official receipt issued by a medical practitioner together with a medical certificate showing the nature of the injury or sickness and send back to BOCG Insurance.
- For any loss or damage to baggage etc. whilst in the custody of carriers (airline, bus company etc), a written notification must be immediately given to such carriers and a report should be obtained.
- Any loss of money or property (including but not limited to travel document and travel ticket), burglary/theft/robbery or any other similar attempt, must be reported to the police at the place of loss within 24 hours of discovery and a report must be obtained.

Remark:
- Once the cover for Single Travel Plan is in effect, no refund of premium is allowed.
- “Insured Person & Spouse” refers to legally married couple.
- “Insured Person & Child(ren)” refers to father or mother travelling with all the legally dependent unmarried child(ren) who is (are) 6 weeks to 17 years old.
- “Family” refers to legally married couple with all the legally dependent unmarried child(ren) who is (are) 6 weeks to 17 years old. If the family is insured, the maximum benefit payable in each covered section shall not exceed 200% in aggregate of the amount specified in the selected plan (not applicable to insured item 1, 16 and 21 under “Personal Accident”, item 2 “Compassionate Death Cash”, item 13 “Loss of Home Contents” and item 15 “24-hour Emergency Assistance Service” ).
- Area 1: Restricted to the Mainland of China, the Taiwan region, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Korea, Japan and Guam.
- Area 2: Worldwide.
- If the policyholder terminates the Annual Travel Plan, he/she will still be required to pay at least 50% of the total premium. But if any claim has arisen, 100% of the total premium is required to be paid.
- One legally dependent unmarried child who is 6 weeks to 17 years old can enjoy free coverage if his/her father or mother is insured under the Annual Travel Plan.
- Only applicable to payment settled through BOC Credit Card 12-Month Interest-free Monthly Instalment.

Am I eligible to apply for the Plan? Are there any limitations for the insured person?
The proposed insured must be aged 18 or above, insured persons must be aged between 6 weeks and 80 years. Applications for persons aged under 18 must be signed by their parents or guardians.

Can I enrol in the Plan for children aged under 18 on a standalone basis? Are there any limitations?
Yes, enrolment in the Plan can be made for persons aged between 6 weeks and 17 years old travelling without their parents. However, the premium will be the same as that for an adult. Besides, they should complete the entire journey with an adult.

What is mean by “Immediate Family members”?
Immediate Family members means the insured person’s spouse, parents, parent-in-law, grandparent, child, brother, sister, fiancé or fiancée.

Can I enrol in the Plan after setting off on my journey?
No, You must enrol in the Plan before your departure from Hong Kong in order to enjoy the protection.

My children will travel overseas on a study tour, can he/she apply the Plan?
A “Student Overseas Travel Cover” is provided under the Plan free of charge. It offers students adequate protection no matter what they do and where they go such as studying, sightseeing or visiting relatives during their stay overseas.

What is the maximum policy period of the Plan?
The period of insurance for “Annual Travel Plan” is one year and the maximum cover period for each trip is up to 90 days and with no limit on the number of trips during the covered year. As regard to “Single Travel Plan”, the maximum cover period is 180 days.

Is mobile phone covered under the Plan?
If you have applied the enhanced benefit, you can have the protection on loss of mobile phone due to theft, robbery or accidental damage. Any loss due to theft or robbery must be reported to the police within 24 hours of discovery and a report must be obtained.

If act of terrorism happened at the destination, can I have the personal accident protection?
You can have the personal accident protection if you have applied the enhanced benefit.

Will the Plan protect the insured person if he/she joins the scheduled cruise overseas, but he/she fails to board the cruise ship due to delay of the flight and hence the cruise trip is cancelled?
If travel delay is due to the insured accident for at least 8 hours (e.g. hijack or mechanical breakdown of the public conveyance), directly resulting in the insured person’s failure to board the cruise ship and hence cancellation of the cruise trips, the insured person will be reimbursed the irrecoverable prepaid cruise fees. (only applicable to the insured person who has applied the “cruise protection”)

How to calculate the claim payment under the “Shore Excursion Cancellation Allowance” of the cruise protection?
Claim payment is based on per insured person and per shore excursion, payment for all shore excursions will not exceed the maximum benefit of the plan selected. (only applicable for the insured persons who have applied “cruise protection benefit”)

Can I make any claims on the Plan if I have made compensation for any accidental loss or damage of the rented vehicle during my journey?
Yes, the Plan offers the insured person a “Rental Vehicle Excess Coverage” for a maximum indemnity limit if HK$5,000 per event under the rental agreement.

If an incident happened during the journey, what should the insured person do?
If an accident happened to the insured person during his/her travel, he/she should stay calm and notify the relevant authorities and organizations immediately, such as the Police, airline and travel agency. He/She must also keep the original copies the original copies of all the documents, including the Police report, medical certificate, purchase receipt for necessities and the like. After returning to Hong Kong, he/she should submit a completed claim form together with all supporting documents and reports to the Claims Division of BOCG Insurance as soon as practicable for further processing.

Can I cancel the insurance policy and have premium refund after the policy has been issued?
Once the “Single Travel Plan” insurance policy has been issued, it is non-cancellable, and no premium refund will be made. For the “Annual Travel Plan”, the premium refund is subjected to the premium refund provisions as stated in the policy.

You may call our 24-Hour Emergency Assistance Services Hotline (852) 2861 9235. Before you dial, please get ready your full name and policy number in order to obtain assistance as soon as possible.

Will the policy of Annual Travel Plan be automatically renewed each year?
Yes, if you do not receive any amendment notices for renewal terms from BOCG Insurance before the expiry date of the policy, your policy will be automatically renewed and continuously in force upon your payment of renewal premium for the coming policy year.
